The Law of Christ has replaced the Law of Moses. With coming of the Messiah the Law of Moses was replaced by the Law of Christ. Many old rules were dropped from the law and many new rules were added.

Some health, hygienic, leisure and tithing laws were dropped and are now no longer enforced (Col 2:16, Heb 9:10, 2 Cor 9:7, etc.); and some new laws, especially of love and forgiveness, have been added. We have a New Covenant.

Heb 8:13 New Covenent. 8:13 In that he saith, A NEW COVENANT, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth OLD is ready to VANISH AWAY. Heb 7:12 New Law, the Law of Christ. 7:12 For the PRIESTHOOD BEING CHANGED, there is made of necessity a CHANGE ALSO OF THE LAW. The whole New Testament, in its entirety, is necessary to characterize the Law of Christ. But a few general rules emerge, especially regarding love and forgiveness, in addition to those parts of the Law of Moses, which the Lord Jesus confirmed (reaffirmed). OUR LORD CONFIRMED EVERY ONE OF THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, WIH THE EXCEPTION OF THE SEVENTH DAY (leisure).

Where lies the new emphasis? Gal 6:2Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Gal 6: 7; 9-10As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Matt 22:37-40Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt LOVE the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt LOVE thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Romans 13:8-10 Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that LOVETH another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt LOVE thy neighbour as thyself.Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Jesus confirmed (reaffirmed) every one of the Ten Commandments, except that of the Seventh Day. Our Savior also came to FULFILL, to COMPLETE the law: Matt 5:17-18 Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets: I have not come to abolish, but to FULFIL.Verily I say unto you, that until perish the heaven and the Earth, nor a jot or a tittle perish from the law, until all things are COMPLETE.

Christ came also, as I understand it, to FULFIL, to AMPLIFY, to DEEPEN, to COMPLETE, and to CLARIFY the law. For example, observe the CHANGES from the Law of Moses to what the LAW UNDER CHRIST requires today:

ADULTERY – NOW just watching a woman (probably married, it says woman, not virgin) and imagining sex with her, is committing adultery in your heart. If a wife separates from her husband and remarries during the life of the first husband, she commits adultery. (Now don’t get mad at me, take it up with God. Also there is one exception under Christ to this rule)This is far more than was given through Moses. That sure amplifies the Law.

HONOR your father and mother -NOW it is to honor all brothers and sisters in Christ.

Do NOT KILL - NOW if you are only angry with your brother, you are in trouble. Much more so if you call him names. If you hate your brother, you are a murderer.

SEVENTH DAY, the day of rest- this is the only commandment which our Lord did not confirm in the manner it was then practiced. He did EXPLAIN that the day of rest was to be for the benefit of man, not man for the benefit of a rest day. Rest, as I understand it, was for the protection of man against a cruel work load, not to build a prison around him, to torture him. Apart from a concept of leisure, ANY DAY IS NOW ACCEPTABLE to honor and worship the Lord. Better still, worship every day. But Saturdays were traditional in the Old Testament, honoring “Gods Rest” from creation, seven being the symbol of completion. Sundays (day of the sun) are traditional in the worship in Baal, Molob, the pagan gods of Greece and Rome.

IDOLATRY- what did Jesus tell Satan during His trials in the desert? Matthew 4:9-10, First Corinthians 10:14, Apocal. 22:14-15, etc. The concept is NOW also expanded to include the worship of money and power. And so on, all the Ten Commandments.

WORKS and the Law of Christ. CHRIST JESUS LEFT HIS COMMANDMENTS. Works are required as evidence of intent, but can never save. They are never good enough. God declares our best works are dirty rags. Man cannot save himself. Man needs a Savior. Faith alone saves, faith only in the Jesus of the Bible, but that faith is never alone. It always has works. Someone who does not love Jesus will not understand this. But at least understand that sinning will separate you from Jesus, fast. There is even a sin unto death. Check it out. Then YOU will pay for your sins yourself, Jesus will not do it.

You become a Christian when you ask Jesus to be the RULER OF YOUR LIFE. After that you try daily to clean up your life with the Bible; and this never stops. If your conversion is genuine you will get to love our Lord Jesus with all your heart. Works will be automatic. James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone

Some say that the Sermon on the Mount is the Platform of the King, for the thousand year reign of Christ, when LAW will be raised to the n-th degree. No more salvation by grace, they will WORK for their salvation. That’s the time you can turn the other cheek, when they slap you, because judgment will be immediate and spectacular. That will be the time when the door- lock industry will be out of business. They will not need locks. I can’t comment on this. Take it up with God.

WE DO have clear commandments of Christ: James1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Matthew 28: 19-2028:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen Heb 5:9And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
